Experimenting is nothing new if you are into DSLRs simply because DSLRs are the "new thing" out there so placing them in some "regular" camcorder situations is a test by itself. Flying DSLRs, Scuba DSLRs, GoPROs and other will find their place HERE - in the EXPERIMENTAL SECTION !

Currently we are TAKING PREORDERS for our newly developed multirotor UAV we like to call B_HEXA. It is 6 motors aerial photo/video drone for DSLR cameras. I developed it along with Robert Godrijan and Davor Crnogorac of HELIFOTO team.

Serious testing is taking place with B_TRAM - cable cam rig that can go 50km/h over 100m of distance carrying 5kg camera on a remote 3 axis gimbal with live video feed and our special anti vibration system. Concert of pop-rock band Parni Valjak in Arena Zagreb was our first gig in Arena Zagreb and we went for 90m across the 10.000 people. Keeping it wide all the time was a task for this one. Vjeko Skledar took one of my GoPRO HD Hero cams and some duct tape (yeiii). He decided to keep it in less distorting mode (R5 - 1080p@25fps). I was Da Play'r ... just like Mitch Buchannon ... right ?!

Flying not one but TWO GoPRO HD HERO cameras on a RC HELI was an idea that just happened. How? We wanted to put one on the nose of Protos but we had to use something on the tail to balance the weight ... so why not using almost the same weight ? So the second HD HERO went on. This is our experience. Yea and we didn't crashed it. Yet.

I do all sorts of flight test very offten. Robert Godrijan form HELIFOTO is guilty for this. He talked me into RC HELI stuff and now I'm hooked and I just can't stop crashing this toys for the boys.

Shooting a whole music video in just one single take? Idea is not new but it was a nice opportunity to try flying my Steadicam Pilot in one continuing shot with 24mm f1,4L on a 5dmk2. In most of the cases I tend to use 14mm f2.8L lens but this time I decided for a little bit tighter angle. 3 and a half minutes doesn't sound like much but there are many obstacles, stairs, edges even dogs to stumble on the way. And the story ended where it all began - in a bar !
The shooting took place in Ceminac in Baranja county in eastern part of Croatia.

My production assistant BEBI took one of our 5dmk2s and in a period when he wasn't assisting with the shoot he took few shots of rest of us there. Voila - it is almost a Behind a scenes video !

This Canon 1D mkIV extreme low-light test was entirely shot in night conditions. Only available lights were coming from street lamps, TV set or some usually unusable source of light. None color corrections or brightness/contrast were made on this clip. Most of shots were made at insanely high ISO-12800 to explain how much light this sensor can pick-up from darkness. I mean, there is grain running around but I was determined not to go lower value ISO. (I had to do that on one occasion only because the picture was blown up...insane). I had this camera for a FEW HOURS only so the "story" and everything around it was made "under way". It was cold as hell and the clock was ticking, few friends helped with their acting and voice sync afterwards. Last but not the least important - the music. It was played and recorded "under way" and practically in the moment of editing, on the same MacBookPro Unibody 17". Additional LIBEC TR320 dolly system was used for a few shots, a small Sachtler FSB2 tripod was to carry all the weight...and a LOT's of glass looked into the dark: 14mm f2.8L, 24mm f1.4L, 24mm f3.5L TS-E, 50mm f1.2L, 85mm f1.2L, 100mm f2.8macro, 135mm f2.0L, 300mm f2.8L IS, 600mm f4.0L IS.
We used Canon 5D mk2 on closing shots and for "making of" video.

After shooting a simple TVC for local ATP tennis tournament I've found my self with some extra, non used high speed shots. Nothing special, two guys playing a match, only thing weird is that a Weisscam HS-2 was looking in their direction. Another funny fact is that this $$$.$$$ cam was looking through my Canon L glass !!! Yep, 300mm f2.8 IS L, 600mm f4.0L, 135mm f2.0L were on it. 24mm ARRI prime was being used in only one shot. All focusing was done without ff unit or puller, like allways...

This movie was shot on a somekind of Sony HDV mini camcorder, GoPRO HD and one Canon 5dmkII for ground shots.

This is what it says > curriculum vitae in HD form, picture+sound instead letters on the paper. I just hope that it will serve it's purpose.
Clip was shot on a Canon 5dmkII + 50mm f1.2L, 24mm f1.4L, 135mm f2.0L and thing took place in ALFAFILM (alfa-film.com) studio in Zagreb, Croatia.

TWO BAD - Canon 5DmkII CAR RIG test   2009\03\11 This is my first car rig experience and just one hour after I left the equipment store the rig was ready to rumble. Check it out and FEUER FREI ! We used a loooot of duct tape + Canon 5dmk2 + 14mm f2.8L, 15mm f2.8 fish, 50mm f1.2L

This is just a teaser/tester of my personal showreel. The idea was to present my camera/editing skills in some other way. Marko Petar Oreskovic, Zvonko Hrabar and Tea Lovcalic joined this party as actors thoe there wasn't any script whatsoever. Elvir Tabakovic assisted with sound/scene/light/power etc ... everything was shot with Canon 5dmarkII and 50mm1.2L, 135mm 2.0L and 14mm 2.8L. One 25watt lightball was used from the top and one 800watt ianiro with red filter on it. Only it turned out very violent, it wasn't the original intention.

The whole DSLR "thing" started with this one. A two days fooling around made a big turn on my career. This video was shown over 100,000 times and made it's way to several short movies festival around the globe.

BEAUTIFUL TARTS is the first video edit I did in my life. This video is just one track of the MOR's album that actually wasn't released. Cool thing is that the entire "video" is shot with a still camera in burst mode. (Canon 10d + Canon 24-70 f2.8L). The reason for this is that I didn't have any budget at all for this so the equipment rental wasn't possible. I came up with this crazy thing in order to make at least something. Video was made 4 years ago and was my first step to the "video" world. Later on that same week I got my self a little sony PC 330 handheld camcorder and the rest is history. It all happened in 2004.
